Art and Nature

The Greeks asserted that art reflects nature, so it is no surprise that fractal themes, so common in nature, are present in some art.

Perhaps they are not more usual because one's first observation of fractals requires uncommon sensitivity.

Interestingly, the universal experience as teahcers is that with a very small amount of training, even mathematically timid students can see fractal structures in nature.

Without this training, the task is more difficult.

Nevertheless, here are a variety of examples of fractals in art, though to be sure, some were uninentional.
