Driven IFS and Data Analysis

IFS Driven by Financial Data

As part of their project, Michael Monarchi and Jeremy Lynch analyzed four years of closing prices of EMC. (This is some sort of financial company. It has noting to do with Einstein, as I had at first thought.)
Here we present just the portion of their project dealing with finding a form of the data for which driven IFS gives useful pictures. All experiments are with equal-size bins.
First, we drive the IFS by closing prices. The driven IFS is not very interesting.
Long-term financial data usually are presented on a logarithmic scale. Will this help? Alas, no. The driven IFS still is boring.
Finally, we drive the IFS with the differences of the logs of the closing prices. This shows some promise.
