Scale Invariance

All versions of self-similarity imply scale invariance: fractals have no natural size.
By contrast, Euclidean objects do have a natural size: circles and spheres have diameters, squares have side lengths, and so on.
So pictures of natural fractals often include Euclidean objects to set the scale. Lens caps are common in geology texts.
