For example, consider the L-system with alphabet A = {F, +, -}, the production rules

F -> F-F++F-F
+ -> +
- -> -

and the axiom S = F. One step produces the string

F-F++F-F,

two steps produce

F-F++F-F-F-F++F-F++F-F++F-F-F-F++F-F,

and so on. Taking q = 60 deg, this L-system generates the Koch Curve.
