Further Information:

Homework will be due Thursday at the beginning of class. Sometimes a very short quiz will be given at the beginning of class (after homework is handed in) on the day the homework is due. Late homework will not be accepted and no makeup quizes will be given (so show up on time!). However I will throw out your lowest homework grade and lowest quiz grade (so if you miss one quiz/homework it won't affect you too much). The quiz will be based on material covered in the homework and sometimes taken directly from the homework. Understanding and completing the homework should be enough preparation for the quiz. (So do your homework and concentrate on what you are doing! Don't just mindlessly copy your friend's wrong answers!) Midterm and Final questions may also come directly from the homework. You are encouraged to work on homework together but you must write it up yourself using your own words. Cheating is not tolerated. There will be serious consequences for cheaters. Please come to office hours, especially if you are having trouble with the class. If you can't make my office hours email me and we will try to set something else up.

Special Note: A make-up midterm will be given only with a dean's excuse. Under no circunstances will early exams be given. The final exam can be postponed only with a dean's edxcuse. The make-up final is the end of the second week of the spring semester. The final will be given at no other times.
